Green Grass Evaluations has a full service build and repair shop. We offer services to customers purchasing heads, shafts, or full clubs from us. We do not allow for mail in club work, unless that club work comes with the purchase of new shafts or new heads through us. We do not take in work on items not purchased from us. We offer the following services.
Hot Melt - $20
Hot melting is, for those who are unfamiliar, a way to permanently add weight to the internal structure of a wood or hybrid head. This involves injecting hot glue into the head, just exactly the way the Tour vans do it. We use a custom modified Champ 600 glue gun for professional results.
Full Adjustable Shaft Build - $25
This service involves cutting the shaft to playing length, tipping as requested, installing a new factory adjustable tip, as well as installing a new grip so that the shaft is ready to play the second you receive it. This service is free on all shaft purchases of $300 or more, and will cost $25 with a Tour Velvet grip on used or lower cost product. We offer a full spectrum of grips to choose from also, of which some will carry a small upcharge.
Complete Custom Builds - Varies
We have the capability to do full custom builds by grip matching for weight, custom swingweighting irons and wedges, including full sets, both in a linear or progressive manner. We sell a full line of steel shafts from Nippon, KBS, True Temper and Mitsubishi for irons and wedges. Certain lightweight shafts have their limitations on how heavy the swingweight can get, but we can generally achieve reasonable requests. This will also include loft and lie adjustments for irons, wedges, and driving irons.
We have recently chosen to discontinue our wood bending service, as so many new woods are coming with carbon tops, which makes it very hard to bend without compromising the crown structure. We may still do this at customer request, but understand there is no warranty on wood bending, and unfortunately, crowns can crack or separate. We will not be held responsible for this, and is done with the customer willing to accept this risk.
